We headed out to see Dr. Thompson for our next sonogram…and the one that would tell us whether we were having a boy or a girl.

Momma has thought the entire time it was a boy. I have thought it was a girl. But the fact is, that both of us are so happy to be having a baby that we truly have no preference either way.
When we arrived at the office we were taken directly to the sonogram room, where Doc showed up about two minutes later and got straight to work.
As would seem normal for our baby, he/she was not cooperating. In fact, Baby O spent the entire time “mooning” us. Which, as I quickly found out, is not the best position to determine the sex of a baby in the womb. Go figure!
Doc told us that if the baby would just open it’s legs we could get a good picture. But no such luck. Momma even offered to do a few jumping jacks to try to mix things up a bit..but the Doc told us that probably wouldn’t help.
So, after about five minutes of poking and prodding and trying to get a better angle, he finally told us he was 90% sure it was a girl. “90%!?!? We want 110% Doc!! ” Maybe in a couple of months. But for now, we’ll have to settle for 90%.
So there ya go. We’re 99% sure that we have a 90% chance of having a girl. I think that’s pretty good odds. So I went out and bought the pink “Daddy’s My Hero” shirt for Lola to wear when she gets home.

Oh yeah, Lola Elizabeth is her name. I think we’re 100% on the name. Lola was my great grandmother’s name and is also a derivative of Delores, which was Jamie’s grandmother’s name. That worked out well.
So now we’re totally overwhelmed with baby registries and shower invitations and nursery furniture.
WOW, I think this may be a lot of work!
